Store Policies

Store Policies

 

Returns:

We personally inspect every item brought into the store, and will note if we place an item for sale that has writing or missing pages. We do not intentionally misrepresent; however, we are human and may on occasion miss something. If you receive an item that has been grossly misrepresented, please contact us so we can work something out. Refunds or exchanges of used items are not given for any other reason. 

 

We do not guarantee that we will “buy” a book back from you, even if you purchased it from us. Please choose your curriculum with great consideration and forethought.

 

Items purchased from The Homeschool Hub are subject to the following return policy:

New books and/or items may be returned within 7 days for a store credit of the full amount. All items must be in the exact same condition as they were purchased. New items returned after the 7 day period may be subject to our standard trade in policy.

 

Used items may not be returned for full purchase credit.  If you purchase a used item and decide it is not for your family, you may bring it in on trade for store credit or place the item up for consignment.  The item will be subject to our trade in or store credit policies. 

 

Clearance items cannot be returned.

 

Online Purchases

Special Orders

It is impossible for us to carry every title available, but we are happy to assist you in finding the books (new or used) that you are looking for.

All special orders must be prepaid. We regret having to do this; unfortunately, there have been too many no shows following the special ordering of books.

 

Book Reserves

We know that many of our customers live over an hour away from our store, and we value your patronage. We are happy to hold books for our customers. We have a 7 for 7 policy. That means that we will hold up to 7 titles for you for 7 days until you are able to come in and purchase them.

 

Shipping

We gladly ship books anywhere in the world! Within the United States, we use USPS Media Mail to save you money. Our current shipping rates are as follows:

5.00 minimum shipping on all orders and 12% of total of all orders over $25.00.

(Unfortunately, we had to recently raise our shipping rates to the above costs due to the rising costs of shipping and materials)

We will do our best to maximize your shipping dollar!

 

Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery for domestic shipments. If you wish to receive your items faster, please contact us for a shipping quote prior to purchasing items.

 

Payments

We accept cash (in store purchases only), money orders, checks, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Paypal.

Customers will be responsible for any charges resulting from bounced or re-deposited checks.

 

Book Buys, Trades, and Consignment

We love used books! They are the heart of our business!

It is a blessing for other homeschoolers to be able to purchase the books they need at reduced prices.

 

Schools, Teachers, Co-ops, Enrichment Centers, and Other Large Groups:

We are interested in textbooks and teacher editions, as well as any other educational materials you no longer need or that your teachers may be disposing of, such as library books, readers, posters, games, manipulatives, educational videos, etc.

 
We offer more than one option for you to sell your used books.

 

Our most popular option:

We have a “trade for trade” arrangement with many private and charter schools in our area. We invite you to do the same!  You will find this highly beneficial!  Here’s how it works:

You donate your used or surplus books and materials to The Homeschool Hub. We pick them up.  Anytime you need books (such as extra copies for a new student or to replace a damaged copy OR send your teachers in for books they need/want for their classroom), we will in turn donate those to you.    
 

If your school is closing or not interested in our trade arrangement, we will buy your used and surplus books year-round. We will schedule a time to come to your school, review your books, and offer a purchase price to be paid to you that day.

 

Please call, email, or complete the contact form on our contact page, include a list of your books when possible (with publisher, title, printing edition, student or teacher edition, and description of condition). This is helpful as we can likely determine and give you an estimated purchase or credit price prior to pick up and/or bring any books you need on trade; and this also tells us how much manpower we need to bring.

 

If any of your books are not in resale condition, we will also remove those for you in lieu of the dumpster receiving them. Often we are able to donate these to other schools, churches, missionaries, or homeschooling families experiencing hardship.

Individuals:

The Homeschool Hub now offers more than one option for you to sell your gently used books. 

 

First, there is our traditional store credit program. If you have new or gently used curriculum, books, or other educational materials, we may accept them in as trade, giving you an in-store credit towards future purchases. This works similar to a gift card and can be used immediately or in any increment you choose throughout the year. This option works well for families who are continuing to homeschool and are trading in towards the purchase of additional or future homeschooling materials. We also offer consignment. If you would prefer to receive cash back on your books, we suggest our consignment program.  We offer a one year term with a 25-50% return to you on the sale of your items. Please read our complete consignment policy here for terms and conditions, as well a listing of “accepted” and “non-accepted” items.  This process works best for families who are no longer homeschooling, live outside driving distance to the store, need cash return on their items, or who will not be buying additional materials within the next year.   *****WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING CONSIGNMENT AT THIS TIME, DUE TO LACK OF SPACE. OUR SHELVES ARE FULL!
